WHAT IS DIKSA
Madhya 15.108 Srila Jiva Gosvami explains diksa in his Bhakti-sandarbha (283):
divyam jnanam yato dadyat – kuryat papasya sanksayam
tasmad dikseti sa prokta – desikais tattva-kovidaih
“Diksa is the PROCESS by which one can AWAKEN HIS TRANSCENDENTAL KNOWLEDGE and VANQUISH ALL REACTIONS CAUSED BY SINFUL ACTIVITY. A person expert in the study of the revealed scriptures knows this process as diksa.”
Madhya 4.111 Diksa ACTUALLY means initiating a disciple WITH TRANSCENDENTAL KNOWLEDGE by WHICH he becomes FREED FROM ALL MATERIAL CONTAMINATION.
Note: the two above points both state that WHEN TRANSCENDENTAL KNOWLEDGE IS AWAKENED THE PERSON WHO HAS RECEIVED THIS WILL NOT HAVE ANY MATERIAL CONTAMINATION. ALL REACTIONS CAUSED BY SINFUL ACTIVITY ARE AT THIS POINT VANQUISHED. ALSO AT THIS POINT THERE CANNOT BE THE THREE MODES OF MATERIAL NATURE ACTING ON THE PERSON HENCE REACTION (KARMA) FRUITIVE ACTION STOPS.
MADHYAMA-ADHIKARI RECEIVES SPIRITUAL INITIATION AND THE UTTAMA ADHIKARI (PRABHUPADA) FULLY ENGAGES HIM IN TRANSCENDENTAL LOVING SERVICE OF THE LORD(LOVING MELLOWS–IN HIS SVARUPA–THE CONSTITUTIONAL POSITION).
NoI 5 In order to intelligently apply the sixfold loving reciprocations mentioned in the previous verse, one MUST select proper persons with CAREFUL DISCRIMINATION. Srila Rupa Gosvami therefore advises that we should meet with the Vaisnavas in an appropriate way, according to their particular status. In this verse he tells us how to deal with three types of devotees–the kanistha-adhikari, madhyama-adhikari and uttama-adhikari. The kanistha-adhikari is a neophyte who has received the hari-nama initiation from the spiritual master and IS TRYING to chant the holy name of Krsna. One should respect such a person within his mind as a kanistha-vaisnava.
A MADHYAMA-ADHIKARI HAS RECEIVED SPIRITUAL INITIATION FROM THE SPIRITUAL MASTER AND HAS BEEN FULLY ENGAGED BY HIM IN THE TRANSCENDENTAL LOVING SERVICE OF THE LORD. The madhyama-adhikari should be considered to be situated midway in devotional service. The uttama-adhikari, or highest devotee, is one who is very advanced in devotional service. An UTTAMA-ADHIKARI is not interested in blaspheming others, his heart is completely clean, and he has attained the realized state of unalloyed Krsna consciousness. ACCORDING TO SRILA RUPA GOSVAMI, THE ASSOCIATION AND SERVICE OF SUCH A MAHA-BHAGAVATA, OR PERFECT VAISNAVA, ARE MOST DESIRABLE.
Note: Kanistha adhikari is TRYING to chant the Holy name BUT the MADHYAMA ADHIKARI by virtue of his OFFENSELESS CHANTING has been engaged in RELISHING LOVING MELLOWS WITH KRISHNA (SPIRITUAL INITIATION—DIKSA). THIS is called TRANSCENDENTAL KNOWLEDGE. KRISHNA’S PASTIMES ARE REFLECTED IN HIS HEART.
Antya 4.192 DIKSA-kale bhakta kare atma-samarpana sei-kale krsna tare kare atma-sama
Antya 4.192 “At the time of INITIATION, when a devotee FULLY SURRENDERS unto the SERVICE of the Lord, Krsna accepts him to be as good as Himself.
Antya 4.194 “The living entity who is subjected to birth and death, when he gives up all material activities dedicating his life to Me for executing My order, and thus acts according to My direction, at that time he REACHES THE PLATFORM OF IMMORTALITY, and becomes fit to enjoy the spiritual bliss of EXCHANGE OF LOVING MELLOWS WITH ME.’
MADHYAMA ADHIKARI IS FREED FROM ALL MATERIAL CONTAMINATION
Madhya 23.6: Life’ s Ultimate Goal–Love of Godhead The word SUDDHA-SATTVA-visesatma means “SITUATED ON THE TRANSCENDENTAL PLATFORM OF PURE GOODNESS.” In this way the soul is purified OF ALL MATERIAL CONTAMINATION, and this position is called SVARUPA-laksana, the constitutional symptom of BHAVA, emotion. By various tastes, one’s heart is softened, AND THERE IS AN AWAKENING OF ONE’S LOVING PROPENSITY TO RENDER SPONTANEOUS SERVICE TO THE LORD. This is called tatastha-laksana, the marginal symptom of bhava.
WHERE THE SUN OF KRSNA EXISTS THERE CANNOT BE DARKNESS OF MAYA
SB 1.2.19 The soul’s activity becomes adulterated in contact with matter, and as such the diseased activities are expressed in the form of lust, desire, hankering, inactivity, foolishness and sleep. The effect of devotional service becomes manifest by complete elimination of these effects of passion and ignorance. The devotee is fixed at once in the mode of goodness, and he makes further progress to rise to the position of Vasudeva, or the state of unmixed sattva, or suddha-sattva. ONLY IN THIS SUDDHA-SATTVA STATE CAN ONE ALWAYS SEE KRSNA EYE TO EYE BY DINT OF PURE AFFECTION FOR THE LORD.
BHAVA REVELATION BEGINS
7.83 Lord Caitanya in Five Features In this verse it is explained that ONE WHO CHANTS THE HARE KRSNA MANTRA DEVELOPS BHAVA, ECSTASY, WHICH IS THE POINT AT WHICH REVELATION BEGINS. It is the PRELIMINARY STAGE in developing one’s original love for God. Lord Krsna mentions this bhava stage in the Bhagavad-gita (10.8):
aham sarvasya prabhavo mattah sarvam pravartate
iti matva bhajante mam budha bhava-samanvitah
“I am the source of all spiritual and material worlds. Everything emanates from Me. The wise who know this perfectly engage in My devotional service and worship Me with all their hearts.”
BRAHMA SEES THROUGH REVELATION
Adi 1.50 Thus when Brahma, INITIATED BY SRI KRSNA BY THE SOUND VIBRATION tapa, engaged himself in acts of austerity, by the pleasure of Visnu he was ABLE TO VISUALIZE THE TRANSCENDENTAL WORLD, SRI VAIKUNTHA, THROUGH TRANSCENDENTAL REALIZATION.
MADHYAMA-ADHIKARI SEES KRISHNA–NO MORE THEORETICAL
760211SB.MAY: -In the MADHYAMA-ADHIKARI HE CAN SEE four things. What is that? Four things means, first of all the Supreme Lord, isvara, the controller, HE CAN SEE. He can see means he understands, he appreciates, he can conceive, “Yes, the Supreme Lord is there”. THERE IS NO MORE THEORETICAL.
SB 4.8.53: Chanting of the Hare Krsna mantra is the easiest process of meditation in this age. As soon as one chants the Hare Krsna mantra, HE SEES THE FORMS OF KRSNA, RAMA and Their energies, and that is the perfect stage of trance. One should not artificially try to see the form of the Lord while chanting Hare Krsna, BUT WHEN THE CHANTING IS PERFORMED OFFENSELESSLY THE LORD WILL AUTOMATICALLY REVEAL HIMSELF TO THE VIEW OF THE CHANTER. The chanter, therefore, has to concentrate on hearing the vibration, and without extra endeavor on his part, the Lord will automatically appear.
DIKSA–FREED FROM ALL MATERIAL CONTAMINATION
SB 1.2.20: Thus established in the mode of UNALLOYED GOODNESS, the man whose mind has been enlivened by contact with devotional service to the Lord gains POSITIVE SCIENTIFIC KNOWLEDGE OF THE PERSONALITY OF GODHEAD in the STAGE OF LIBERATION FROM ALL MATERIAL ASSOCIATION.
MADHYAMA-ADHIKARI (VAISNAVA PLATFORM)
SB 1.2.20: When a QUALIFIED brahmana FACTUALLY becomes a Vaisnava, IN THE ENLIVENED STATE OF LIBERATION HE CAN KNOW WHAT IS ACTUALLY THE PERSONALITY OF GODHEAD.
BHAVA –REVELATION BEGINS
SB 1.2.21: Thus the knot in the heart is pierced, and all misgivings are cut to pieces. The chain of FRUITIVE ACTIONS IS TERMINATED WHEN ONE SEES THE SELF AS MASTER. Attaining SCIENTIFIC KNOWLEDGE of the Personality of Godhead MEANS SEEING ONE’S OWN SELF SIMULTANEOUSLY.
LOVING SERVICE (BHAVA)—FREE FROM CHAIN OF KARMA–NO REACTION
SB 1.2.21 This enlightenment perfectly enables the devotee to distinguish spirit from matter because the knot of spirit and matter is untied by the Lord. This knot is called ahankara, and it falsely obliges a living being to become identified with matter. As soon as this knot is loosened, therefore, all the clouds of doubt are at once cleared off. One sees his master and fully engages himself in the transcendental loving service of the Lord, making a full termination of the chain of fruitive action. In material existence, a living being creates his own chain of fruitive work and enjoys the good and bad effects of those actions life after life. BUT AS SOON AS HE ENGAGES HIMSELF IN THE LOVING SERVICE OF THE LORD, HE AT ONCE BECOMES FREE FROM THE CHAIN OF KARMA. HIS ACTIONS NO LONGER CREATE ANY REACTION.
MADHYAMA-ADHIKARI HAS THIS KNOWLEDGE OF HIS SVARUPA AND THIS BURNS TO ASHES
ALL THE REACTIONS TO MATERIAL ACTIVITIES.
As stated in Bhagavad-gita (4.37):
yathaidhamsi samiddho ‘gnir bhasmasat kurute ‘rjuna
jnanagnih sarva-karmani bhasmasat kurute tatha
“As a blazing fire turns firewood to ashes, O Arjuna, so does the FIRE OF KNOWLEDGE burn to ashes all reactions to material activities.” UNLESS ONE UNDERSTANDS THE SELF AND ITS ACTIVITIES, ONE HAS TO BE
CONSIDERED IN MATERIAL BONDAGE.
MADHYAMA-ADHIKARI RELISHES LOVING MELLOWS WITH KRISHNA —THIS KNOWLEDGE OF
RELATIONSHIP BURNS ALL REACTIONS.
Bg 4.37 PERFECT KNOWLEDGE OF SELF AND SUPERSELF AND OF THEIR RELATIONSHIP IS COMPARED HEREIN TO FIRE. This fire not only burns up all reactions to impious activities, but also all reactions to pious activities, turning them to ashes. There are many stages of reaction: reaction in the making, reaction fructifying, reaction already achieved, and reaction a priori. BUT KNOWLEDGE OF THE CONSTITUTIONAL POSITION OF THE LIVING ENTITY BURNS EVERYTHING TO ASHES. When one is in complete knowledge, all reactions, both a priori and a posteriori, are consumed. In the Vedas (Brhad-aranyaka Upanisad 4.4.22) it is stated, ubhe uhaivaisa ete taraty amrtah sadhv-asadhuni: “One overcomes both the pious and impious reactions of work.”
DIKSA (MADHYAMA-ADHIKARI) –ALL MATERIAL CONTAMINATION FREED.
SB 9.19.25 As soon as one is FREED FROM ALL THE DIRT OF MATERIAL CONTAMINATION, as Maharaja Yayati was, one’s original position as an associate of the Lord is REVEALED. This is called SVARUPA-SIDDHI, OR PERSONAL PERFECTION.
DASYA-RASA (REALIZATION OF ACTUAL SERVICE) MADHYAMA ADHIKARI RELISHES LOVING MELLOWS WITH KRISHNA
Madhya 19.219 “On the platform of santa-rasa, one only realizes his constitutional position. HOWEVER, WHEN ONE IS RAISED TO THE PLATFORM OF DASYA-RASA, HE BETTER UNDERSTANDS THE FULL OPULENCE OF THE SUPREME PERSONALITY OF GODHEAD.
MADHYAMA-ADHIKARI BEGINS TO SERVE— NITYA-DASA (ETERNAL SERVANT) REALIZATION OF SERVICE IN SVARUPA( ACTUAL CONSTITUTIONAL POSITION) AS SOULS RELISHING LOVING MELLOWS WITH KRISHNA.
681127BG.LA Prabhupada: They become perfect in Krsna consciousness. Liberated soul means… We are just trying to be Krsna conscious. We are not actually in full Krsna consciousness. We are… Just like a diseased person is trying to recover. So one who is recovered, there is no question of his healthy life. We are trying to be healthy, our present position. So we are trying to be Krsna conscious. So one who is liberated is nothing but Krsna conscious. You follow? Yes. Krsna consciousness is the perfection of life. So we are trying to reach that platform of perfection by regulative principle. But when we are actually on the platform, there is nothing but Krsna consciousness. THAT IS THE PERFECTION OF LIFE. THAT IS OUR ACTUAL, LIBERATED STAGE. JIVERA SVARUPA HAYA NITYA-KRSNA-DASA. That is our svarupa. SVARUPA MEANS ACTUAL CONSTITUTIONAL POSITION. AND MUKTI, LIBERATION, MEANS TO COME TO THAT REAL POSITION.
MADHYAMA ADHIKARI RECEIVES (DIKSA) SPIRITUAL INITIATION RELISHES LOVING MELLOWS WITH KRSNA IN ONE OF FIVE RELATIONSHIPS.
Adi 7.73 In his Anubhasya, Sri Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Gosvami says that the actual effect that will be visible as soon as one achieves TRANSCENDENTAL KNOWLEDGE IS THAT HE WILL IMMEDIATELY BECOME FREE FROM THE CLUTCHES OF MAYA AND FULLY ENGAGE IN THE SERVICE OF THE LORD. Unless one serves the Supreme Personality of Godhead Mukunda, one cannot become free from fruitive activities under the external energy. HOWEVER, WHEN ONE CHANTS THE HOLY NAME OF THE LORD OFFENSELESSLY, ONE CAN REALIZE A TRANSCENDENTAL POSITION THAT IS COMPLETELY ALOOF FROM THE MATERIAL CONCEPTION OF LIFE. RENDERING SERVICE TO THE LORD, A DEVOTEE RELATES TO THE SUPREME PERSONALITY OF GODHEAD IN ONE OF FIVE RELATIONSHIPS–NAMELY, SANTA, DASYA, SAKHYA, VATSALYA OR MADHURYA–AND THUS HE RELISHES TRANSCENDENTAL BLISS IN THAT RELATIONSHIP. Such a relationship certainly transcends the body and mind. WHEN ONE REALIZES THAT THE HOLY NAME OF THE LORD IS IDENTICAL WITH THE SUPREME PERSON, HE BECOMES COMPLETELY ELIGIBLE TO CHANT THE HOLY NAME OF THE LORD. Such an ecstatic chanter and dancer must be considered to have a direct relationship with the Lord.
DIKSA–NO MATERIAL CONTAMINATION—MADHYAMA ADHIKARI.
TLC 19 THE TRANSCENDENTAL ECSTATIC ATTACHMENT FOR KRSNA WHICH RESULTS FROM PERFECTLY UNDERSTANDING THAT KRSNA’S PERSON AND NAME ARE IDENTICAL IS CALLED BHAVA. ONE WHO HAS ATTAINED BHAVA IS CERTAINLY NOT CONTAMINATED BY MATERIAL NATURE. HE ACTUALLY ENJOYS TRANSCENDENTAL PLEASURE FROM BHAVA, AND WHEN BHAVA IS INTENSIFIED, IT IS CALLED LOVE OF GODHEAD. Lord Caitanya told Prakasananda Sarasvati that the holy name of Krsna, called the maha-mantra (great chanting), enables anyone who chants it TO ATTAIN THE STAGE OF LOVE OF GODHEAD, OR INTENSIFIED BHAVA.
NO PHYSICAL BARRIERS TO DIKSA
THIS IS THE POWER OF MAHA-BHAGAVATA PRABHUPADA. BY HIS WORDS(BOOKS, TAPES) HE CAN PENETRATE THE HEART OF THE SUFFERING AND INJECT TRANSCENDENTAL KNOWLEDGE. HE IS GIVING THE HOLY NAME IN HIS BOOKS AND THE HOLY NAME IS HIS PROPERTY TO GIVE. ONLY ONE HAS TO CHANT OFFENSELESS THEN HE CAN ACTUALLY RECEIVE DIKSA (SPIRITUAL INITIATION).
Adi 1.35 There is NO DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE SPIRITUAL MASTER’S INSTRUCTIONS AND THE
SPIRITUAL MASTER HIMSELF. In his absence, therefore, HIS WORDS OF DIRECTION SHOULD BE THE PRIDE OF THE DISCIPLE. Note: Prabhupada’s words of direction—-Srimad-Bhagavatam there is no difference between Prabhupada’s Instruction and himself.(the uttama-adhikari is powerful to give diksa from his books).
SB 1.7.22 The spiritual master, BY HIS WORDS, CAN PENETRATE INTO THE HEART of the suffering person and INJECT KNOWLEDGE TRANSCENDENTAL, which alone can extinguish the fire of material existence.
SB 2.9.8 THE POTENCY OF TRANSCENDENTAL SOUND IS NEVER MINIMIZED BECAUSE THE VIBRATOR IS APPARENTLY ABSENT.

68-05-28 Letter Malati: Just like Krishna can be present simultaneously in millions of places. Similarly, the Spiritual Master also can be present WHEREVER THE DISCIPLE WANTS. A Spiritual Master is the principle, not the body. Just like a television can be seen in thousands of places by the principle of relay monitoring.
Prabhupada is not for mere 5000 disciples—he is Maha-bhagavata (JAGAD-GURU) who is CAPABLE TO GIVE DIKSA TO ANYONE WHO WANTS TO BE COME DISCIPLINED BY HIM(DISCIPLE–DEFINITION). SO LONG HIS BOOKS ARE HERE HE REMAINS PRESENT TO GIVE ANYONE (DESERVING BY CHANTING OFFENSLESS–MADHYAMA ADHIKARI) DIKSA 10,000YEARS?
WHAT IS THE PROOF THAT PRABHUPADA IS UNABLE TO GIVE DIKSA (MADHYAMA ADHIKARI STAGE) TO THE GENERATIONS OF DEVOTEES TO COME? IS THERE EVEN ONE PROOF? AND BECAUSE WE HAVE CLEARLY ESTABLISHED SRILA PRABHUPADA IS GIVING DIKSA AND WILL CONTINUE TO GIVE DIKSA FOR THE COMING GENERATIONS OF DEVOTEES THERE IS NO NEED TO IMITATE HIM IS THERE?
BESIDES THIS IF AN ACARYA IS TO SUCCEED PRABHUPADA IN GIVING DIKSA THAN HE HAS TO BE PROMINENT BUT AT THE MOMENT ALL SECTIONS OF SOCIETY ARE QUOTING ONLY PRABHUPADA SO HE IS PROMINENT (authority)—-SO HE IS TO BE ACCEPTED.
68-04-12: Dayananda: Regarding parampara system: THERE IS NOTHING TO WONDER FOR BIG GAPS.
Just like we belong to the Brahma Sampradaya, so we accept it from Krishna to Brahma, Brahma to Narada, Narada to Vyasadeva, Vyasadeva to Madhva, and between Vyasadeva and Madhva there is a big gap. But it is sometimes said that Vyasadeva is still living, and Madhva was fortunate enough to meet him directly. In a similar way, we find in the Bhagavad-gita that the Gita was taught to the sungod, some millions of years ago, but Krishna has mentioned only three names in this parampara system–namely, Vivasvan, Manu, and Iksvaku; and so these gaps do not hamper from understanding the parampara system. WE HAVE TO PICK UP THE PROMINENT ACARYAS, AND FOLLOW FROM HIM. There are many branches also from the parampara system, and it is not possible to record all the branches and sub-branches in the disciplic succession. We have to pick up from the authority of the acharya in whatever sampradaya we belong to.
ANOTHER POINT –IF ANOTHER ACARYA COMES WHAT WILL HE GIVE US THAT SRILA PRABHUPADA HAS NOT ALREADY GIVEN US? HE HAS GIVEN US EVERYTHING!

‘UTTAMA-ADHIKARI’ SE TARAYE SAMSARA
“If one is expert in Vedic literature and has full faith in the Supreme Lord, then he is AN UTTAMA-ADHIKARI, A FIRST-CLASS VAISNAVA, A TOPMOST VAISNAVA WHO CAN DELIVER THE WHOLE WORLD AND TURN EVERYONE TO KRSNA CONSCIOUSNESS.” (Cc. Madhya 22.65)
PRABHUPADA IS UTTAMA-ADHIKARI HE HAS GOT KRISHNA IN HIS HEART AND KRISHNA IS THE PROPERTY OF HIS PURE DEVOTEE ONLY. ONLY HE CAN GIVE HIM TO OTHERS. THUS GIVING KRISHNA (HOLY NAME) TO ANOTHER PERSON BY UTTAMA ADHIKARI IS DIKSA. BY GIVING THE HOLY NAME HE IS DELIVERING FROM MATERIAL CONTAMINATION. BY THIS RECEIVING OF THE HOLY NAME IN OFFENSELESS CHANTING MADHYAMA ADHIKARI ALSO SEES THE PASTIMES OF KRISHNA BEING REFLECTED IN HIS OWN HEART. KRISHNA IS NOT THE PROPERTY OF CONDITIONED SOUL TO GIVE. SO HOW CAN DIKSA BE TRANSMITTED INTO ANOTHERS HEART FORM A CONDITIONED SOUL!!
THEREFORE SEEING THE CONDITION OF SOCIETY PRABHUPADA ALLOWED THIS RITVIK
INITIATION CEREMONY BY GIVING THE FORMALITY OF SPIRITUAL NAME ETC. THIS IS
WHAT IS BEING GIVEN NOW! ALSO, BUT THEY DO NOT WANT TO BE ADDRESSED AS
RITVIKS. ONLY PRABHUPADA IS ABLE TO GIVE THE HOLY NAME AS UTTAMA ADHIKARI.
THE HOLY NAME HIS (UTTAMA ADHIKARIS) PROPERTY AND ONLY HE CAN DELIVER.
JUST LIKE SANJAYA SAW THE PASTIMES OF KRSNA (BHAGAVAD GITA) BEING REFLECTED
IN HIS HEART SO ALSO SRILA PRABHUPADA IS SEEING KRSNA.
SB 1.6.33 The Absolute Personality of Godhead is not different from His transcendental name, form, pastimes and the sound vibrations thereof. AS SOON AS A PURE DEVOTEE ENGAGES HIMSELF IN THE PURE DEVOTIONAL SERVICE OF HEARING, CHANTING AND REMEMBERING THE NAME, FAME AND ACTIVITIES OF THE LORD, AT ONCE HE BECOMES VISIBLE TO THE TRANSCENDENTAL EYES OF THE PURE DEVOTEE BY REFLECTING HIMSELF ON THE MIRROR OF THE HEART BY SPIRITUAL TELEVISION. Therefore a pure devotee who is related with the Lord in loving transcendental service can experience the presence of the Lord at every moment.
PRABHUPADA GIVES THIS TELIVISION! BY DIKSA WHEN ONE RECEIVES THE HOLY NAME
SB 2.9.35 Factually, the SPIRITUALLY DEVELOPED PERSON IS ABLE TO HAVE THE TELEVISION
OF THE KINGDOM OF GOD ALWAYS REFLECTED WITHIN HIS HEART. That is the
mystery of knowledge of the Personality of Godhead.
PRABHUPADA IS TELLING US: “NO GAMBLING”. INITIATION IS FROM PRABHUPADA!

KRSNA IN HIS HEART—–AND–TRANSFER HIM (HIS PROPERTY–PURE DEVOTEE).
SB 10.2.18 As indicated here by the word manastah, the Supreme Personality of Godhead was transferred from the core of Vasudeva’s mind or heart to the core of the heart of Devaki. We should note carefully that the Lord was transferred to Devaki not by the ordinary way for a human being, but by diksa, initiation. Thus the importance of initiation is mentioned here.
UNLESS ONE IS INITIATED BY THE RIGHT PERSON, WHO ALWAYS CARRIES WITHIN HIS HEART THE SUPREME PERSONALITY OF GODHEAD, ONE CANNOT ACQUIRE THE POWER TO CARRY THE SUPREME GODHEAD WITHIN THE CORE OF ONE’S OWN HEART.
THE THIRD OFFENSE IN CHANTING THE HOLY NAME IS TO DISOBEY THE ORDERS OF THE
SPIRITUAL MASTER (PRABHUPADA) NOW CONSIDER THE FOLLOWING:
DO NOT BECOME SPIRITUAL MASTER UNLESS YOU ARE UTTAMA ADHIKARI.
DO NOT BECOME DISCIPLE OF ANYONE BUT UTTAMA ADHIKARI.
THIS IS DISOBEYING MEANS NO DIKSA!–ADVANCEMENT CHECKED CANNOT SEE KRSNA IN
HEART! NO TELEVISION IN HEART!
NoI 5 In this verse Srila Rupa Gosvami advises the devotee to be intelligent enough to distinguish between the kanistha-adhikari, madhyama-adhikari and uttama-adhikari. The devotee should also know his own position and should not try to imitate a devotee situated on a higher platform. Srila Bhaktivinoda Thakura has given some practical hints to the effect that an uttama-adhikari Vaisnava can be recognized by his ability to convert many fallen souls to Vaisnavism. ONE SHOULD NOT BECOME A SPIRITUAL MASTER UNLESS HE HAS ATTAINED THE PLATFORM OF UTTAMA-ADHIKARI. A neophyte Vaisnava or a Vaisnava situated on the intermediate platform can also accept disciples, but such disciples must be on the same platform, AND IT SHOULD BE UNDERSTOOD THAT THEY CANNOT ADVANCE VERY WELL TOWARD THE ULTIMATE GOAL OF LIFE UNDER HIS INSUFFICIENT GUIDANCE. THEREFORE A DISCIPLE SHOULD BE CAREFUL TO ACCEPT AN UTTAMA-ADHIKARI AS A SPIRITUAL MASTER.

Madhya 24.330 The guru MUST be situated on the topmost platform of devotional service. There are three classes of devotees, and the guru MUST be accepted from the topmost class.
Madhya 24.330 When one has attained the TOPMOST POSITION OF MAHA-BHAGAVATA, he is to be accepted as a guru and worshiped exactly like Hari, the Personality of Godhead. ONLY SUCH A PERSON IS ELIGIBLE TO OCCUPY THE POST OF A GURU.
