Solid Proof of How Leaders of ISKCON Have Become Mis-leaders

Room Conversation — April 22, 1977, Bombay : 770422r3.bom :

Tamāla Kṛṣṇa: Well, I have studied myself and all of your disciples, and it’s clear fact thatwe are all conditioned souls, so we cannot be guru. Maybe one day it may be possible…

Prabhupāda: Hm.

Tamāla Kṛṣṇa: …but not now.

Prabhupāda: Yes. I shall choose some guru. I shall say, “Now you become ācārya. You become authorized.” I am waiting for thatYou become all ācārya. I retire completely. But the training must be complete.

Tamāla Kṛṣṇa: The process of purification must be there.

Prabhupāda: Oh, yes, must be there. Caitanya Mahāprabhu wants that. Āmāra ājñāya guru hañā [Cc. Madhya 7.128]. “You become guru.” (laughs) But be qualified. Little thing, strictly follower…

Tamāla Kṛṣṇa: Not rubber stamp.

Prabhupāda: Then you’ll not be effective. You can cheat, but it will not be effective. Just see our Gauḍīya Maṭha.[or iskcon today] Everyone wanted to become guru, and a small temple and “guru.” What kind of guru? No publication, no preaching, simply bring some foodstuff... My GuruMahārāja used to say, “Joint mess,” a place for eating and sleeping.Amar amar ara takana (?)(Bengali): “Joint mess.” He said this.  ( Room Conversation — April 22, 1977, Bombay : 770422r3.bom 🙂

Below we have a photo of a diety room in one Iskcon temple. This scene is quite typical all over the Iskcon world-so many “gurus” pictures lined up all waiting to be worshiped by their neophyte and foolish “disciples”. The above conversation with Srila Prabhupada and TKG, took place only 7 months before Prabhupadas departure-and yet TKG here admits that he and all the other disciples were NOT qualified yet to become guru-acarya of Iskcon. And yet they illegally did it anyway. This is how the  whole problem began-conditioned souls “assuming”, without authority, the post of Acarya due to envy of our Acarya Srila Prabhupada and Lord Krsna.

And as everything should be judged by the results–here below are some of the results in the Iskcon Vancouver BC Canada temple where all the resident devotees cannot even rise for mongol arotik daily, what to speak of anything else. The only devotees present for mongol arotik is one lone old Prabhupada disciple who wakes the Deities, offers Them mongol arotik and some sweets, then later on all the resident devotees straggle in-whenever they feel like coming.

Just see below how they care for their own temple by how they have let the grounds detiorate.

Below is the temple sign out front on the main road-see how badly it looks-and the picture below shows how the sign board-Founder Acarya-A C Bhaktivedanta Swami Srila Prabhupada has become detached from the Iskcon sign board and is now laying on the ground !!  These three pictures say a thousand words. Due to neglect, by the followersSrila Prabhupada is detached from Iskcon and is now laying on the ground while all of them comfortably sleep in their apts.

Back in the early 1970’s Srila Prabhupada told us he had a dream where Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu was withdrawing His mercy from the Gaudiya Matha, because of their disibedience to their Acarya Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Maharaj, and giving it to Iskcon instead. Seems like history is repeating itself now in another form.

And now below we have listed what happens, which is happening right now all over the Iskcon world, when the followers dis-obey the Acaryas Orders.

Room Conversation — September 19, 1973, Bombay : 730919rc.bom :

Prabhupāda: That is very dangerous. Then you will all fall down. If you make a joint mess, if you go and collect something and then eat and sleep, then everything will be… Therefore I do not want to keep separate. The temple worship means there will be regulative principles, that you will have to rise early in the morning, you have to attend class, kīrtana… These things, as soon as you give up all these things, zero. Then it will be like karmīs, as they are, hard labor, collecting money, and enjoying senses. That’s all. So that is the pitfall everywhere. In the church, temple, as soon as they get some nice income, then in the name of “priest,” “sādhu,“sannyāsī,” they do the same thing. Therefore Gosvāmīs, they left everything. That is the danger of viṣaya, viṣaya touch. Viṣaya chāḍiyā se rase majiyā. As soon as we give up this śravaṇam, kīrtanam, then it becomes viṣaya. Viṣaya means materialism. There is no spiritualism.Kṣurasya dhārā, kṣurasya dhārā. Kṣura means sharpened razor. If you are careful, you cleanse very nicely. If you are not careful, immediately blood. Immediately. So the spiritual life is like that. As soon as you become little inattentive, immediately māyā captures, “Yes, come on.” Then everything failure. We have got the tendency to enjoy sense. So senses are strong. As soon as there is opportunity, the senses will take advantage immediately. Then your whole business finished

Losing interest in serving the deity-here’s why

Dhṛṣṭaketu: …that one is making progress by how he feels, or should he just simply execute the order of the spiritual master and not worry about how he feels? How should… In other words…

Prabhupāda:  If he is making progress, he must feel. If he is not making progress, then he will not feel.

Dhṛṣṭaketu:  And that feeling is a willingness to serve  Kṛṣṇa  or…

Prabhupāda: No, that is always. Whether he is actually serving Kṛṣṇa… That is devotion. So if he is actually serving Kṛṣṇa, then anarthanivṛttiḥ syāt bhajanakriyāBhajanakriyā meansanarthanivṛttiḥ syāt. This is the result. If his anartha is not decreasing, or becoming zero, thenhe is not making bhajana. He is doing something else.

Dhṛṣṭaketu:  And if he’s not feeling increased ecstasy, then he should try to change his position or try to perform…

Prabhupāda:  No. There is no change of position. Position is the same.

Dhṛṣṭaketu:   Because once this question was asked that… In class a devotee asked that “I’m losing my taste for serving the Deity, and I don’t know what to do ,” and so they asked this question. So…

Prabhupāda:  He can chant. There is no question of “I am losing interest.”  If he is actually following the rules and regulations, there is no question of losing interest.

Hari  śauri :  There is never any decrease.

Dhṛṣṭaketu:  You mean if one simply follows everything that is outlined in the temple schedule and…

Prabhupāda:  Yes. That should be strictly followed.

Dhṛṣṭaketu:  Then his feeling will gradually develop. He’ll gradually develop love then.

Prabhupāda: Yes. Anarthanivṛttiḥ syāt tato niṣṭhā. If his anartha is decreased, then he becomes firmly fixed up. There is no question of decreasing. (end)

How to lose the param para link

Delhi, India
Letter to Satsvarupa
“Kirtanananda may be eager to address in the Harvard university but recently he has lost his link on account of disobedience. You sing every day morning that by the mercy of the Spiritual master one can please the Lord and one who has not pleased the spiritual master cannot have any access in the realm of Krishna Consciousness. Very recently Kirtanananda has developed a different consciousness of Maya which is called misuse of one’s minute independence offered by Krishna.

By misuse of one’s independence one at once becomes a victim of Maya and thus he loses all importance in Krishna Consciousness. So it is my definite opinion that his lecture anywhere now will bear no spiritual sequence. He must rectify his mistake before he can play in our Society any important role. By lips he says that he is a surrendered soul but by action he is thinking differently .

 No preaching means no life

.. we are writing so many books. Unless we take care of the books and

preach and read ourself, understand the philosophy, this Hare Krsna

will be finished within few yearsBecause there will be no life. How

long one can artificially go on, “Hare Krsna! Haribol!” That will be

artificial, no life

  1. THE RESULT OF PERFORMING SADHANA BHAKTI

  • In spiritual strength there will be no scarcity of money. SPL 02/08/1970
  • Please do not neglect to engage yourself in the prescribed duties for maintaining your spiritual strength. Without keeping spiritual strength there is no question of any accomplishment. 11/16/1970
    • If this routine work is always done nicely and never neglected, then our all success is guaranteed in whatever we do. 02/05/1972
    • Simply become more concerned with increasing the spiritual content of our lives, and in this way all other problems like management will be easily solved. 05/02/1972
    • If this program is strictly maintained amongst the devotees, they will remain pure. 12/23/1972
    • I am confident that if you simply take our principles very seriously and follow them rigidly, everything will come out successfully. 02/04/1971
    • I am very glad to note that you are seeing that the devotees are maintaining the devotional practices. This is the secret to success. Therefore, I am stressing it. 10/31/1974
    • Make certain that your routine work is going nicely, then all other programs will be successful. 12/26/1971

  1. THE RESULT OF NOT PERFORMING SADHANA BHAKTI

  • Follow the simple process or be victims of women and wealth. 05/01/1974
    • Please do not neglect to engage yourself in the prescribed duties for maintaining your spiritual strength. Without keeping spiritual strength there is no question of any accomplishment. 11/16/1970
    • If we are not very careful to always stick to the point of regulative principles and purest standards of high living, then everything will spoil very quickly and the whole show will be a farce. 04/02/1972
    • But if this our regular Krishna consciousness program is allowed to slacken, then everything else we try will fail. 02/05/1972
    • If we neglect even for a moment our routine work, if we allow the regular program to become slack, then everything else we may try will fail. 02/05/1972
    • If you yourself remain always pure, then your preaching will have effect. As soon as there is little impurity, the whole thing will deteriorate and go to hell. 12/29/1972
    • The smallest neglector inattention to these matters of routine practices will cause our other programs to fail. 01/01/1972

III. THE NECESSITY FOR PERFORMING SADHANA BHAKTI

  • Monetary matters are secondary. On principle, we should better starve than neglect our rules and regulations. 04/11/1972
    • Everyone must rise by 4:00 a.m. and attend mangal arati. 01/02/1974
    • All the temple members, without exception, must rise by 4:00 a.m. and attend mangal arati. 01/02/1974
    • My instruction is that all of my disciples must attend the mangal arati and chant 16 rounds daily. 08/20/1974III. SADHANA AND TEMPLE PRESIDENT / LEADERSHIP

  • Managers must remain vigilant that everyone follow sadhana. 2/22/1972
    • All the presidents of our centers should see that all the members are strictly observing the brahminical standards, such as rising early, cleansing at least twice daily, reading profusely, attending arati, like that. 05/03/1972
    • You must be the perfect example of Krishna conscious devotee.
    • If temple worship is not attended, better to stop the press. 10/22/1971(?)

IV OTHER.

  • And if you simply keep to our standard program…that means chanting daily 16 rounds, rising early, attending mangal arati, like that, if this program is strictly maintained amongst all the devotees, they will remain pure, and if preaching is pure, automatically leaders, managers, funds, everything will be given profusely by Krishna – without any doubt. 12/23/1972
    • That is of utmost importance, do not fail to chant 16 rounds daily, rise early, come to mangal arati, come to classes, and follow the four regulative principles. In this way, your life will become free from all anxieties. 12/28/19(?)
    • I am also glad to hear that in your temple no one misses mangal arati and that everyone is becoming steady and peaceful in their service….Life will flourish. 12/28/1974

THE SUCCESS FORMULA

  • In spiritual strength there will be no scarcity of money.
    • If this routine work is always done nicely and never neglected, then our all success is guaranteed in whatever we do. 02/05/1972
    • I am confident that if you simply take our principles very seriously and follow them rigidly, everything will come out successfully. 02/04/1971
    • Make certain that your routine work is going nicely, then all other programs will be successful. 12/23/1972
    • And if you simply keep to our standard program, …that means chanting daily 16 rounds, rising early, attending mangal arati, like that, if this program is strictly maintained amongst all the devotees, they will remain pure, and if preaching is pure, automatically leaders, managers, funds, everything will be given profusely by Krishna – without any doubt. Life will flourish. 02/03/1975

THE FAIL FORMULA

  • But if this our regular Krishna consciousness program is allowed to slacken, then everything else we try will fail. 02/05/1972
    • If we neglect even for a moment our routine work, if we allow the regular program to become slack, then everything else we may try will fail. 02/20/1970
    • The smallest neglect or inattention to these matters of routine practices will cause our other programs to fail. 01/10/1970

This has caused me much pain

67-10-14.Bra             Letter: Brahmananda
“Swami Kirtanananda has returned to the United States and is
causing quite a stir among the devotees. Following his suggestions, we
have stopped wearing robes and have cut off our flags. He said these
appurtanences are too strange-looking to outsiders and only make it
more difficult for them to consider chanting Hare Krishna. Swami
Kirtanananda has said we must avoid appearing to be Orientalists if we
are to have 108 centers in the US.”
This is very much disturbing to me & has caused me much pain .
Please therefore stop Kirtanananda from making his mental concoctions.
Do not be misled by him. I have never advised him to act like that. If
he is causing such disturbances he should not be allowed to indulge in
such nonsensical activities. I have already written you to inform you
that somehow or other he has become crazy; otherwise he would not have
disobeyed me to go directly to N.Y. For the time being he has cut all
link with me, therefore any instruction given by him is unauthorized &
should at once be rejected. He has no right to dictate as he has
without my sanction. Whatever is to be done will be executed when I
return. He is too much puffed-up nonsensically…

67-09-23.Gar              Letter: Gargamuni
. I entrusted this matter to Kirtanananda but
he has disobeyed which has given me a shock . Once he disobeyed my
order and we lost $1200.00 in connection with Mr. Payne. This time he
has again disobeyed me . If he sets such example in the Society it will
be a great impediment. Obedience is the first law of discipline . We
are thinking of a great world wide organization which is not possible
to be executed if there is disobedience.

There is a Bengali proverb that how God works, that one
man, a householder is praying to God, “My dear Lord, there may not be
any theft case, burglary, in my home this night. Please save me.” So
one man is praying prayer, praying like that. Another man is praying,
the thief, “My dear Lord, this night I shall commit burglary in that
house. Please help me to get something.” Now, what is Krsna’s
position? (laughter) Krsna is everyone’s heart. So Krsna has to
satisfy so many prayers. The burglar and the thief and the
householder, so many prayers. So Krsna’s adjustment… But He’s
still… That is Krsna’s intelligence, how He adjusts. He gives
everyone freedom. And everyone is given facilities, but still He’s in
botheration. Therefore Krsna advises to his devotees that “Don’t plan
anything. You rascal, you nonsense, you don’t give Me trouble.
(laughter) Please surrender unto Me. Just go under My plan; you’ll be
happy. You are making plan, you are unhappy; I am also unhappy. I am
also unhappy . (laughter) So many plans are coming daily, and I’ll have
to fulfill.” But He’s merciful. If a… Ye yatha mam prapadyante
tams…
So except the [pure] devotee of Krsna, everyone is simply giving Krsna
trouble, trouble, trouble, trouble . Therefore, they are called

duskrtina. Duskrtina, most miscreant, the miscreants. Don’t make any
plan. Accept Krsna’s plan . That will be simply giving trouble to
Krsna . Therefore, a devotee does not pray even for his maintenance.
That is pure devotee. He doesn’t give trouble to Krsna even for his
bare maintenance. If he has no maintenance, he’ll suffer, fasting;
still, he’ll not ask Krsna, “Krsna, I am very hungry. Give me some
food.” Of course, Krsna is alert for His devotee, but a devotee’s
principle is not to place any plan to Krsna. Let Krsna do. Simply we
have to do according to the plan of Krsna.

Devotee: Prabhupada, I heard it said that the spiritual master will
always come back until his devotees, his disciples, have achieved God
realization. Can you explain that?
Prabhupada: Yes. But don’t try to take advantage of it. (laughter)
Don’t try to give trouble to your spiritual master like that. Finish
your business in this life . That is especially meant for those who are
slack. His devotee, his disciple should be serious in serving
spiritual master . If he is intelligent he should know that “Why should
I act in such a way that my spiritual master has to take the trouble
to reclaim me again? Let my business be finished in this life.” That
should be the right way of thinking. Not that, “Oh I am sure my
spiritual master will come, let me do all nonsense.” No. So if you
have got any, I mean to say, affection for the spiritual master, then
you should finish your business in this life so that he may not come
again to reclaim you. Is that all right? Don’t take advantage of this
business. Rather, be serious to finish your business. That is a fact.
710211SB.GOR                   Lectures
In this life we want to finish this
material existence for good . That should be the responsibility, that
“We are going to finish this material existence for good. No more
coming .” Tyaktva deham punar janma naiti. If you take responsibility
in that way, then everything will be adjusted. Serious . My Guru
Maharaja used to say like that, that “Finish this business in this
life. Don’t delay for the next life.” He was telling also that “Don’t
give me trouble again to come here to deliver you .” That is the
responsibility of spiritual master. Spiritual master responsibility is
to take the disciple to Krsna, until he is able to do, to help him, to
help him, to help him. That is the verdict of the sastras.

SB 4.18.5     A foolish person who manufactures his own ways and means through mental speculation and does not recognize the authority of the sages
who lay down unimpeachable directions is simply unsuccessful again and
again in his attempts .

PURPORT

At the present moment it has become fashionable to disobey the
unimpeachable directions given by the acaryas and liberated souls of
the past. Presently people are so fallen that they cannot distinguish
between a liberated soul and a conditioned soul . A conditioned soul is
hampered by four defects: he is sure to commit mistakes, he is sure to
become illusioned, he has a tendency to cheat others, and his senses
are imperfect. Consequently we have to take direction from liberated
persons.

Conclusions:

When one gives us the mentality of wanting to serve his spiritual master and the Vaisnavas,he becomes asara, or useless. Prabhupada tells us there are three kinds of “disciples”.

Guru bhogi, guru tyagi and guru sevi. The disciple who wants to enjoy the assets of his guru maharaj is useless as he only wants to imitate Krsna as enjoyer, completely forgetting his actual position as servant.

For example, -the “devotee” who comes to regular programs, likes prasadam and kirtan, but refuses to do things when asked,or finally does something after being badgered a hundred times. This person has not understood the servant mentality, even though he or she may have a dasa or dasi after their name.

The guru tyagi renounces the orders of his guru because he thinks there is something “else” better, or that what his own guru has given him is no longer relevant in so called modern times. For example, all the Prabhupada book changes currently going on is an example of one who has renounced the order of his guru because he thinks he knows better than his own guru.

And the guru sevi disciple the one who actually tries to understand and serve his gurus orders, without concoction,he is the disciple, and no others.

Srila Prabhupada gives a nice example above about the position of the Supersoul who has to “adjust” the position of those who pray to Him for all kinds of material things. The thief and the householder, both want something and Krsna is being troubled by this constant wanting wanting wanting of Himself by these people.

The same principle can be applied to aspiring devotees, if we have not learnt or have forgotten, that when we chant Hare Krsna maha mantra,we are supposed to be praying for selfless service—not this— Dear Lord Krsna, Hare Krsna Hare Krsna, please give me this or that, or remove this or that.

The more we understand our actual position as servant, the less pain or bother we will be giving to Srila Prabhupada and Lord Krsna.

After all, pure devotional service is supposed to be without mental speculation or fruitive desire and that which is favorably rendered to please Sri Guru and Sri Krsna.

Hare Krsna

Strong words to cut attachment

“To cut something a sharp instrument is required; and to cut the mind from its attachments, sharp words are often required. The sadhu or teacher shows no mercy in using sharp words to sever the students mind from material attachments.”
