1) NARAYANA MAHARAJA PROPERTY DISPUTE UPDATE
Dear PADA: My understanding is that the NM temple was at 301 Rose Avenue,
Venice California 90291. The property was allegedly donated by a female
disciple "Govinda dasi" that was willed to her by a family member who
passed away some years ago. It would seem to me that they'd own that
property free and clear. It may be worth it to dig up these records as well
-- those would be found in the county clerk's office again. Ys Bhakta Anony
[PADA: Thanks, yes it seems that the property was first donated by a young
woman member, and then Narayana Maharaja ordered it to be sold, and then
the money went to a group of loyalists. Or what? Lets get to the bottom of
this issue. A devotee who went to that temple said "All of the sannyasis
there were very puffed up and fighting over who would give the next
'darshan talks.'" There has also been no small amount of infighting amongst
those "sannyasis" over who will get the stolen booty of the house sale. The
only good news is that a number of followers of NM have had their eyes
opened by this fraud and they have rejected NM for his role in
orchestrating this fiasco.
This also reminds us of the 1980s when a young woman had told her bogus GBC
guru that her mother's house would be hers after her mother died. A few
weeks later, the mother was found stabbed to death under very suspect
circumstances. And then the temple goons went over and demanded that the
young woman "sign over the property to gurudeva." Fortunately, this young
woman then met the PADA editor. She reported to us that she thought her
mother had been murdered in order that the "guru" could grab her mother's
property, since her mother had no enemies.
We said, "Keep the house and do not sign it over." And this woman
subsequently rejected her bogus GBC guru and she now worships Srila
Prabhupada. And we told her that since she now worships a pure devotee, and
she no longer worships an big enforcer of the child molester guru cult, her
mother will automatically become elevated in her next life. Thanks pd

received your letter and became very happy to read that you are inspiring
so many devotees by Internet. My heartly blessings are for you and for all
of the members of your preaching program [GALVA]. This is a very important
service, please continue with this and help all to make progress on the
path of pure bhakti.
I am looking forward to meet with you again when I come to the Big Island
or when you come to see me here on the North Shore. I always remember you

[PADA: GALVA KI JAYA! Of course as soon as Narayana Maharaja sees the
Prabhupadanugas, he says "the worshippers of Prabhupada are ritvik poison."
NM even says there is "no such thing as a Prabhupadanuga." No one worships
Srila Prabhupada? Yet as soon as Narayana Maharaja sees a nice child
molester messiah who has his hands down little children's pants -- and who
has orchestrated: banned, beat and assassinated devotees; devotees beaten
with baseball bats; devotees killed and ground up in meat grinders to hide
the evidence (except a dog was found chewing on a hand that was somehow --
not -- ground up); devotees being killed and buried "in the hills of New
Vrndavana"; breaking up marriages so the women will be unprotected and
married five different times in three years, and so their children can be
molested, and so on, then Narayana Maharaja screams tears of joy seeing his
wonderful pal: Kirtanananda the homosexual pedophile messiah who
orchestrates child molesting, beatings and murders of the devotees.
In short Narayana Maharaja recently fell off his chair floating in ecstacy
that he has found his long lost twin brother, Kirtanananda, and he hugged
and greeted his wonderful "guru" brother the molester messiah. And NM
embraces this man showering him with tears of joy, while NM would never
embrace any of us. Rather NM is angry as fire at Gauridasa Pandit and other
Prabhupada's devotees. Pardon us also but if we are supposed to be celibate
in the temples, why bother fighting over the gay thing, unless one would
want to engage in gay sex in the ashrams? Notice, Narayana Maharaja helped
the molester messiahs all along and he still does, and he gets very angry
when we tell him we have to worship Srila Prabhupada. NM is shedding tears
of joy for his child buggery messiah pals, embracing child molesters who
pose as gurus and who orchestrate devotees being murdered, this has been
his policy all along. And GALVA makes NM "happy and inspired." Thanks pd]

3) PADA Editorial -- New Vrndavana Festival -- and the future of ISKCON.
Last year one of the visitors to the "New Vrindavana -- Festival Of
Inspiration" reported to PADA that there is always a sub-violent atmosphere
at these festivals because there are a number of ex-molesters present, as
well as many of their ex-victims. As such "there is a lot of tension"
because both parties are present at the same time. Hence our eye-witness
says "a huge fight could break out at any time." Once again, it seems as
though the bogus GBC are trying their best to alienate ISKCON's ex-children
and wedge them out by giving a sort of carte blanche "free pass" to the
molesters or those who have supported that regime. Worse, some of the
ex-gurukulis are extremely unhappy that some of the molester regime leaders
are being given "a big huge salary" while there is "little or no money" for
the victims of molesting. Clearly the current priority is still: to aid and
abet the molester regime members.
Worse, even when it is publicly known and indeed known ISKCON-wide that
some of the victims might commit suicide after mixing with their abusers,
there is still "no plan to change course." Some ex-kulis complain to PADA
that they find there is always hundreds of thousands of dollars available
for: salaries for "gurus" and their servants (or thugs, goons and lackeys);
hundreds of thousands available for expensive San Fernando Valley lawyers
-- to defend the molester regime -- from molestation lawsuits; hundreds of
thousands of dollars to support a bogus "book changes" department -- and
hundreds of thousands more dollars to print their bogus books; hundreds of
thousands more dollars for even more lawyers to create more bogus lawsuits
over the book changes; hundreds of thousands more dollars available to hire
even more lawyers to sue the devotees in Long Island in yet another bogus
lawsuit etc. Let us not forget -- unlimited money for the molester regime's
medical expenses, secretaries, computers, briefcases, cars, houses, airline
travel, personal assets, personal bank accounts, 1940s Noir detective DVD
collections, peppermint schnops, massage therapists, psychic consultations,
psychotropic drugs, ... ad infinitum.
Indeed this would all add up to millions of dollars or many millions, so
there is always money for the bogus GBC's pet projects -- giving salary to
their lackeys, suing the pants off the vaishnavas, harassing the molesting
victims, creating a bogus book changes departments to employ people in
defying the order -- not to change the books and so on. Yet there is "no
money" for the victims of molesting? Odd huh? We have had over the years
all too numerous reports providing extensive evidence of the frustration,
anger and alienation of the ex-gurukulis (ISKCON's ex-school children) many
of whom are victims of child abuse. For example many of these victims were
shouting at the leaders in Los Angeles recently because the leaders are
forcing yet another wave of children to worship child beaters as their
messiahs (and Naranarayana wrote a nice account of that event).
And we saw the same thing personally when a large group of ex-kulis
confronted Prithu and Bir Krishna to "get rid of Dhanurdara" -- with no
result except some of the ex-kulis were crying in frustration at the end of
the meeting. Why are not more of the parents / adults getting involved and
kicking these bogus people out, a big mystery to us at PADA. This means
many ex-children are trying to confront their aggressors all by themselves,
just as they did when they were five years old -- which also means most of
their parents are still aloof, on the sidelines, and basically AWOL for the
most part. This means many of the parents never understood the problem of
child abuse in ISKCON or that the adults are supposed to have a role in
routing that problem out.
One could call this "criminal negligence" on the part of many of these
brave "Bhagavad Gita" warrior parents, they still send out their poor
children to do the heavy battleground lifting. Meanwhile, many of these
brave Gita warrior parents are too busy eating a feast of ghee soaked
samosas for themselves to be able to get up from their luxury cushion chair
while they are watching football on their seventy-nine inch big screen TV
-- instead of fighting for their children. This is why we are not too
impressed with "thousands of Gitas being distributed" because unless the
people who distribute the books start to read the books -- and realize that
they are supposed to fight evil -- what is the point of distributing a book
when the distributors are not even reading it themselves?
One friend of PADA sums: this means ISKCON has become like "life in the
MAFIA." You go the MAFIA's festival and there you'll have to greet the same
people who shot your uncle Vinnie in the head, and you have to sit down and
have tea and crumpets with the people who assaulted your family members.
You might even have to kiss the cheeks of the same men who shot your uncle
Vinnie, because this is life in the low-class criminal's family. And our
friend said -- it is the same process in the bogus ISKCON, only worse
because you have to kiss your molesters. And at the same time, the people
who shot your uncle Vinnie are being cheered for their glorious and
meritorious "service" and so on, just like the bogus GBC's molester regime
members are getting big posts and salaries etc. So our friend says that
ISKCON has devolved into a similar atmosphere as living a gangster's
lifestyle, where the victims have to act as compliant slaves to their
perpetrators.
PADA editor informed our friend, "Saying that ISKCON is like the MAFIA is
probably somewhat correct, however no one in the MAFIA worships homosexual
pedophiles as messiahs, so please be careful not to insult the MAFIA." In
other words at least the MAFIA has some vague idea of the worship of Jesus
so they have some sense of guru tattva, they would not declare bogus people
to be messiahs. Nonetheless, the other paralells are quite true. The ISKCON
victims are forced to practically bow down if not worship as gurus -- their
perpetrator attackers and / or the regime leaders who orchestrated that
process.
In any event, if a society is trying to "bring back its alienated youth" it
would seem as though the victimizers of children and especially
ex-molesters (and their cheerleader supporters) would be pretty much -- NOT
-- be welcomed at festivals so that the victims will feel welcomed and in a
peaceful environment. At least that would give some hint that the victims
are wanted by that society and that the society is repentant over the
victimization of its children. Yet in the bogus hijacked ISKCON ... no!
Instead, the policy is that the molester regime leaders are wanted and the
"second generation" of ISKCON's children are not being encouraged to
participate because their victimizers are being welcomed and given glorious
accolades at such festivals, if not being given big salaries and posts of
authority.
Meanwhile, these leaders drive up in their luxury Town Cars and cry -- boo
hoo -- that "there is no money for the victims," which is what they were
saying in 1978 when they stepped out of their Town Cars at that time. Of
course the same problem persists in Mayapura where Bhavananda, Nitai
Chanda, Satadhanya and many other members of the molester regime are openly
embraced by Jayapataka and given posts of authority, salaries and so on and
so forth. And these deviants are being given glorious treatment as some
sort of heros. Hence, if any "healing" for the ex-youth is supposed to be
desired -- then the first thing would be to banish the molesters and / or
their regime's supporters from festivals where the victims are going to be
present. Even in the Catholic Church, there was a molester priest who was
exposed and he was moved into some sort of permanent exile, nobody knows --
maybe to Peru. The victimizer is either expelled or he might be sent to
another place far, far away from the area where he was caught molesting and
where he might interact with victims.
Certainly the victimizers should never attend festivals and functions in
the same place where the victimizing occured and where they would be
mingling with their victims. This is just plain common sense. Of course it
requires a little compassion, sensitivity, human dignity and so on and
forth to know this, which seems to be lacking wholesale. Again it is a
little surprising that there is so much emphasis on "book distribution" but
no emphasis on reading the actual books. Otherwise people would know that
child molesters (a) are not gurus, (b) were not gurus, (c) could not have
been gurus, (d) nor could child molesters have "voted in" another wave of
"pure as God" gurus, and (e) those who supported that "guru" regime are
criminals, that is pretty much the conclusion of shastra. The regime's
history of abusing children, their track record is so clear, they need to
be removed from posts of authority and not driving up in a Town Car to
greet the victims of molesting under their jackboots regime?
Then again, there are so many horror movies on the channel 44 midnight
fright nite special about some poor victims being mistreated horribly --
and then they have to kiss their victimizer, and this is the mood of "a
spiritual society"? A horror movie? This bring us to guys like Dravida,
Drutakarma, Jayadvaita and other supporters of the child molester guru's
regime. Notice that these guys have an expense paid life to change Srila
Prabhupada's books, which no one even wants in the first place? They go all
over the world at great expense and tell people that the real priority in
ISKCON is to change all the books, who cares about the gurukulis. These
guys have been lapping up the left over remnants of the bogus gurus, being
their paid up lackeys. While the bogus guru regime is eating up the
gurukulis -- alive -- the guru's lackeys like Dravida, Drutakarma,
Jayadvaita and others are being tossed a bone here and there from the
guru's "maha plate" so they can have a comfy life.
And how odd is this! One of the Tripurari swami clowns who threatened to
kill PADA editor recently has changed his "myspace" photo to a photo of a
huge wolf about to eat a live baby, and this baby in crying terribly in
extreme fright, did we forget to mention his regime is anti-children?
Notice, the whole emphasis is for the anti-children wolves to defend and
keep the members of the enforced cult ritualistic worship of homosexual
pedophiles regime, and they pay guys like Dravida, Drutakarma and
Jayadvaita to start a smoke screen of book changes -- so that hopefully no
one will notice that the molested children are not happy. These guys are
simply cover-ups for the criminals. We hope some of the ex-kulis will start
to ask these gentlemen: how come they always harassed those of us trying to
reign in the molesting and they still don't give a donkey's behind about
the real problems in ISKCON? And the photo of the wolf eating a screaming
baby -- representing a follower of the Tripurari cult, that represents the
whole mentality of their entire regime, it speaks volumes about the inner
mentality of the entire cult, a giant wolf eating a baby who is screaming
in terror, ... "says it all" pilgrims!
To sum then, what is the future of ISKCON? The current managers recently
asked for us, the retired grand-pa sector, the old and crusty relics, the
dying away, the alzheimers fogeys to "step forward and be a guru," because
"our gurus are all getting old, sick and dying off," yet -- they only want
"initiated disciples of Srila Prabhupada." However, they are not initiating
any new disciples of Srila Prabhupada? In other words they are a bunch of
old fogey gurus whose health is so bad many cannot barely attend any
meetings, and so what is the use of their meetings since they are inclined
to re-instate pedophiles as their messiahs? There is no desire to bring in
fresh and new people, they only want a few elite members of "the good ole
boys network," really old nowadays, who will preserve their false guru
cult. And so they will end up exactly like the Gaudiya Matha, a small group
of old guys managing small temples with a few members.
Notice that these leaders do not want "new" people. They want to keep their
teeny circle of a few loyalists to manage collecting money from the hindus
because that gives them control over the property and assets -- until they
die. No wonder then that the gurukulis have not been welcomed in, the
leaders are a self-admitted dying off breed of control freaks who want
everything for themselves right up to their last breath. So PADA suggests
we ALL challenge these leaders and let them know that we are on to their
game. We also recommend that people publicly challenge these "gurus" with
questions and report to PADA how the exchanges went. Better yet a coalition
of the abused and their parents should join forces and collectively
challenge the enforced cult ritualistic worship of homosexual pedophiles
regime. Seems more folks are doing that anyway, including more and more
letters we get from some kick-ass women who understand that Gita means: to
fight, shaming many of the big fat bogus ISKCON delicate cow "men," and

4) THIS IS CRIMINAL! from: A****** dasa
ALL GLORIES TO SRILA PRABHUPADA! I am shocked but thankful for this letter
by Balaram dasa. This Balaram Dasa should be called as a witness. This
abuse is criminal. Materially and spiritually criminal and should involve
years of expensive psychological help for these, now grown, souls. How can
this ever be resolved? Look at the damage all of this has done to Srila
Prabhupadas' work. The level of preaching is embarassing in ISKCON today.
The preaching today in many of the ISKCON temples is childish, boring, and
totally unconvincing due to the level of deceit, and lack of personal
realization of the speakers. What is wrong with these people?
How can they not see how badly they appear before the suffering karmis?
This Krishna Consciousness is for the suffering souls. Just as we had the
benefit of Srila Prabhupada and his kindness and purity we should be
preparing ourselves to give this gift to others. All of this is disgusting,
infantile, offensive, and so many other unmentionable things that it
boggles the mind. Ultimately, Lord Caitanya and his perfect devotee, Srila
Prabhupada, will win this battle, but at what cost to so many sincere
souls. I myself am brokenhearted by these disgraces to my gurus' work. This
will be resolved and many will come to Krishna Consciousness easily and
with smiles on their faces. These smiles will convince others and light up
the world. This is not sentimental. This will come to pass, and these
envious snakes will slither away and hide in some hole of their own making

5) Begging Forgivness BY: ROHINI DEVI DASI
I am completely overwhelmed by the reaction to my letter. After carefully
reading all the letters about Braj Bihari prabhu it made me question
myself. What is more I had another shocking awakening when I spoke with my
close friends about what happened with my letter. This talk I had with my
friends really opened my eyes to my own naivety. My closest friend smiled
at me while I spoke, and said "Rohini you are so sentimental!" she went on
to say how her nephew was victimized sexually by other boys while in the
Vrindavan Gurukul in the late 1990's and nothing was done about it. This
was all while Braj Bihari was the Guruklul incharge. All my friends had
heard stories about Braj Bihari and his involvement in covering up cases of
Child Abuse and Homosexual activities at the Vrindavan Gurukul.
Incredulous, I sat and listened. After they had finished I asked them why
they did not tell me for all the years that we had been friends they all
laughed saying that they did not want to disturb me. I felt so bad after
hearing this that I have made up my mind to never be so naive again. I
cannot say whether the devotees who are accusing Braj Bihari are right or
wrong, I pray that they are, but I sincerely beg forgiveness from any
devotee that I have upset or offended when I naively wrote my first letter.

6) What Naivety! BY: RASARANIDEVI DASI
It is astounding just how naive and blindly sentimental many can be. Can
they not see the connections in regards to the former staff and personel of
the Vrndavan gurukula, and the physical and sexual abuses that happened to
our poor children in Vrndavan on a daily basis? I applaud these children
for having tthe courage to now stand up to their perpatrators and say there
is no way you should be a Temple President, with your big fat salary. There
is no way you should be the head of anything!
One former ashram teacher, now Temple President, no less! says he was
authorized to beat our children! Can you imagine the mentality of this
person? "I was authorized" to beat our children. You try saying that to
these grown up young men now. Say it to their faces, I dare you! Say it to
their parents faces, I dare you!
These perpatrators are having a laugh, with their big fat salaries and
their so-called high positions! Real ISKCON leaders must be embarrassed to
have these posers strutting around, dragging stool were ever they go. As
for so-called CPT members, you can see how some devotees who had some kind
of abuse happen in their own children's lives or who had some abusive
husband or partner, signed up. These inexperienced, un-qualified devotees
had agendas of their own. They enjoyed meteing out punishment, never mind
in some cases to totally undeserving devotees. In one instance a devotee
was viciously beaten with lumps of wood and bricks! Forget about "Shariah
law in Islam" -- when devotees get going they take it to new levels.
Remember Sulocana das?
Now we will see these so-called CPT members resigning. You will see they
will want to distance themselves from these indivduals that are now their
leaders. How ironic! The same perpatrators, the same abusers that abused

7) A DEVOTEE COMMITS SUICIDE (by Visoka dasa)
Hare Krishna,
I wrote the following in memory of a late godbrother of mine, who took a
drastic remedial measure to solve his depression, and for all those
devotees who have unfortunately find themselves in some degree of dejection
in devotional service, some of who have written to us personally. I invite
devotees who think they are suffering from depression to talk about it to
others, on this group or in private emails, so that devotees can try to
help each other.
Sometimes such devotees will succumb to feelings of despair and
hopelessness, and think they are finally defeated, and will give up
the fight. However, such devotees can avoid a defeatist attitude by the
proper understanding of steady and unsteady devotional service, as
explained in sastra. There is always a path to hope and recovery despite
the severity of any kind of setback in devotional practices. I decided to
write on the topics of steady and unsteady devotional service, or
anisthita, because a friend of mine took his shortcomings too seriously,
and he was too hard on himself, and he ended in taking his own life.
I took it that he was despondent because of his apparent failure in
devotional practices, or following regulations. There may
have been several cases like this, where devotees lost all hope and took
the extreme measure of ending their lives. Many other devotees become
disheartened by apparent weaknesses, and instead of a material body
suicide, they may commit spiritual suicide by giving up Krsna
consciousness, because they do not understand the fact that unsteady
devotional service can afflict many, if not most devotees. Some devotees
are more afflicted by these anomalies than others, and it does not mean
that the whole process is hopeless for the many, and only feasible for the

[** PADA: Thanks Visoka but it seems you are missing and / or
over-simplifying the issue. Again. OK, many devotees are not able to follow
the principles nowadays, but that is largely because they are not living in
temples where there is regulated service? So they are out working karmi
jobs and they cannot maintain their "strict sadhana" for the most part.
Duh! Yet why are these thousands of devotees out there working a job
instead of staying in the temple? Because they were kicked out of the
temples by the bogus GBC gurus.
A devotee who has been kicked out of a temple should not be overly
concerned that he is "no longer able to follow," rather he should do his
best and recall that Srila Prabhupada says "many sticks together cannot be
broken -- but one here and one there -- can be broken easily." Srila
Prabhupada's point: without the combined power of "many sticks together"
(devotee association) our individual powers of "one stick here and there"
is not too great. So this is not something to be much mortified about that
so many devotees cannot follow very nicely. We should do our best and
remember that without the temples the same exact things occured after 1936,
MOST OF the post-1936 Gaudiya Matha folks also "could not follow" according
to Srila Prabhupada. So if the more advanced folks in India are not able to
follow after being kicked out, what is our position?
In regards to this particular devotee who committed suicide we think this
case is: he was "depressed because he had been arguing for three days with
the followers of a bogus GBC guru." "Not following" is not the same
problem. First of all, what is there to argue about for three days? This is
why people need to study PADA's materials and -- cut to the chase -- and
jump right into the core root issue, just ask, "Isn't your 'guru'; (a) A
homosexual pedophile and / or child beater (like Dhanurdara); (b) A founder
father of the pedophile pooja regime (like Satvarupa Das Goswami,
Hrdayananda, Jayapataka et al.); (c) A cheerleader, supporter,
philosophical apologist for pedophile pooja (like Sridhara, Narayana,
Tripurari, Gaura Govinda, BV and BP Puri maharajas et al.); (d) A cover up
or re-instator of peophile pooja (all those who re-instated Bhavananda
etc.); Or is your "guru" (e) A person who was "voted in as guru" at a
pedophile guru recoronations or by the regime's founder fathers (persons
voted like Ravindra Swarupa et al.)? And if your "guru" is none of the
above then he is not part of the current bogus GBC guru system? Every
single guru in contemporary ISKCON is one or the other of the above
categories, so ask, which one is your guru in?
Quit fiddling around for three days! Why argue for three days about so many
unrelated topics? And when you give our argument, then you cannot be
defeated in three minutes, three days, three years, three kalpas, three
million - trillion kalpas, starting with your first question. We should not
be wasting our time over three days of so many points of speculation for
example: "Well Prabhupada wanted everyone to be guru." Reply, "Oh, so that
means violent homosexual pedophile regimes that murder dissenters are gurus
and not the rest of us, hmmmm, got it"?
So let us investigate this case more, but PADA's understanding is that this
devotee was wasting his time discussing all kinds of diverse subjects "all
over the map" and hence he could not pin down the bogus GBC guru followers,
so he got frustrated. He failed to address the root issue and so he was
rambling on and on forever, and he felt "there is no end." So start at the
beginning, their gurus are not qualified, and that will end things real
soon. No one can defeat our arguments, indeed Narayana Maharaja scurried
away like a whiny church mouse as soon as he saw PADA editor coming over to
his matha, he ran away whining like a cry-baby because he knows once we ask
him: why he has supported child buggery pooja, why does he write a book
saying there is nothing wrong with buggery pooja, why does he hug guys like
Kirtanananda and not us etc. -- he knows he has no reply. Don't waste time
and get frustrated, cut to the chase and be successful, then you will not
feel so helpless! Thanks pd]

8) No Authority = No Authority
Readers of the Sampradaya Sun are aware that there is an on-going debate
regarding implementation of proposed bylaws being advocated by an ad hoc
committee formed by various members of the GBC and their confederates. In
Canada, the publication of the bylaws were distributed alongside an
instruction that they be adopted immediately. This message was forwarded by
GBC Deputy, Krsnadasa Kaviraja dasa (KdKd), acting on instructions of his
local GBC member, Bhakti Marga Swami (BMS). That email stated:
...Bhaktimarga Maharaja has asked me to froward [sic] this e-mail to all of
you. It is just to encourage all of us to adopt these bylaws ASAP. ISKCON-
Brampton opened with these bylaws in place. Unfortunately ISKCON-Toronto
has yet to adopt them. We will be doing so at our next Temple council
meeting.... As a result, a debate commenced on the merits of the bylaw
changes and their apparent contrary stance in relation to explicit
instructions from Srila Prabhupada on centralization. BMS responded with
the following email.
Sent: Wednesday, March 21, 2007 7:36 PM Subject: Re: GBC Bylaw changes
...However being that we are in Canada and we may have a different
situation we can look more closely at the particular situation at hand. I
have asked Krsnadas Kaviraj personally to involve our legal advisor and we
can communicate further on this matter.... The following arrived, sent by
GBC Deputy KdKd, informing the Iskcon Canadian leaders plus myself of a
change in direction.

...In discussion with him, he is sensitive to the feelings of the senior
Vaisnavas. Before adopting any new by-laws, he agreed that we will have
meetings in Montreal, Toronto, and Vancouver to hear from the devotees and
to fulfill the need to protect Srila Prabhupada's temples. Since this is
Canada and not the US, laws are different and it is seen that we may need
to have a "Made in Canada" solution that fulfills Srila Prabhupada's
teachings....
At the time, it was believed that the GBC body had instigated the process,
so the question arose if BMS and KdKd, who have taken oaths to the GBC, had
the option to develop a different path regarding alleged protection of
Iskcon assets. As a result, H.H. Romapada Swami, the North American GBC
Chairman, was contacted and he replied as follows to the Canadian leaders.

"Dear Canadian leaders, Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to
Srila Prabhupada. "...I received an inquiry from a member of the Canadian
Yatra requesting information re. the GBC Resolution authorizing the bylaws
changes which the NA leaders are requesting the temples in NA to adopt
(emphasis added). "There is no GBC Resolution coming from Mayapur mandating or
authorizing this effort. "Rather, the recommended bylaws modifications have
been a product of an extended effort over a period of time by a number of
TPs, GBCs, conscientious individuals concerned about property protection,
as well as multiple attorneys in America, and others who are quite
knowledgeable in this field.
"The purpose of the bylaws revisions is property protection.
"Bhaktimarg Swami has communicated that the Canadian TPs will carefully
examine these bylaws per Canadian law before their implementation. This is
just as was originally intended for Canada. "If the Canadian TPs make a
specific request, I am sure that your GBC will be more than willing to
consult with the GBC Executive Committee to determine if this specific
effort of property protection requires a GBC Resolution...." So, on
Romapada's Swami's authority, it is now understood that the bylaws were
only for U.S. adoption and are not fortified by a GBC Resolution. He also
clarifies that the changes are only a request. The implied reason for this
is that the GBC has no authority to demand changes, so can only request the
various independently incorporated temples to follow suit.
However, in the initial email informing the Canadian temples, the option of
not following this course was never presented. Rather just the opposite
occured.

However, we need to inquire why are these bylaws optional in the case of
the Canadian yatra and not for the U.S. centres? Is there a resolution from
this ad hoc committee stating such? If so, why wasn't this presented in the
original communiques from KdKd or BMS? Or is this a whim being advocated by
Romapada and Bhakti Marga Swamis in the false guise of a GBC edict?
Previous emails have stated that this action is to be adopted throughout
North America. Now they are changing it. Will this change again? Will
California, Kansas or Maine be let off the hook next? In fact, is there
even an official resolution by this ad hoc group in the first place? If so,
why hasn't this resolution been published? Does this ad hoc group even have
a mandate to decide policy on these matters? This seems to be an unusual
way to run a religious movement and could result in further denigration of
respect towards the GBC Body by the rank and file devotional community if
the GBC members aren't careful.
It must be emphasized these bylaws are recommendations only and temple
leaders, including those in the U.S., do not break their oaths to the GBC
by not adopting them. In fact, Romapada Swami et al seem bankrupt regarding
authority on this matter, both legally and spiritually. Therefore, the
spiritual downside seems non-existant for those choosing not to follow
Romapapada Swami et al's suggestion regarding bylaw change.
Rather, on the upside, there is clear instruction given by Srila Prabhupada
against centralization which contradicts the confused choice currently
being offered by the GBC. To decide to follow the instructions of the
Founder/Acarya of our movement seems obvious.
In a previous posting on the Sampradaya Sun, Romapada Swami and his
committee were requested to provide authorization regarding these changes
within two weeks time. That time has no now transpired and we have not
heard a peep. Until further authentication of their efforts is provided,
the obvious conclusion is that they are lacking authority since Romapada
Swami has admitted that no GBC authorization has been granted. In addition,
this seemingly rogue group possesses no secular empowerment; otherwise, why
are they so desperately attempting to change the bylaws in their favor?
Everyone agrees that protection of the movement's assets is a top priority
shared by one-and-all. However, why is Srila Prabhupada's instructions in
his Will not being followed of establishing three property directors for
the temples? This would seem reasonable as it would be more chaste to Srila
Prabhupada's legal and moral instructions in contrast to implementing
centralized control over temple boards. Who knows what that could lead to?
This onslaught of temple authority is very grave. Future lawsuits would
likely have greater effect in that it would likely be no longer required to
sue each temple individually. In addition, philosophical deviance and the
burden of financial lawsuits have far less chance to threaten the movement
when organized in a decentralized manner.
The responsibility to decide on these bylaws rests on the shoulders of the
various Temple Presidents and their boards. Their priorities and particular
situation needs to be assessed inidividually. To repeat, there seems little
reason to centralize since it goes directly against Srila Prabhupada's
explicit instructions. So why are we even thinking of going there?
GBC actions seem to point to the answer. They are unable to rally the
Iskcon troops through employment of guru, sadhu and sastra. As a result,
they are in effect bowing to legal authority in a desperate and vain
attempt at maintaining legitimacy. There is neither spiritual nor secular
reason that they be followed on this matter.
This is an opportune time for the temple presidents to retake their
rightful position within the power structure advocated by His Divine Grace
Srila Prabhupada. The GBC has obviously failed in their duties and let us
pray that the temple presidents and local councils do not follow them into
the abyss. It is their right and duty to stand up to this flagrant misuse
and misrepresentation of GBC power. This is Srila Prabhupada's institution
and his instructions are absolute. His directives do not succumb to the
modes of material nature, so it is only to our advantage that they be
followed.
If by Krsna's arrangement, you find yourself in a position where you do not
serve in the role of Temple President or Board member, then please inform
him, her or them, that this situation cannot be allowed to fester. One
devotee in Canada told his GBC member that if these changes are allowed to
take effect that he would be forced to leave his service. That may or may
not be your choice but disagreement concerning these bylaws must be voiced.
It is every individual devotee's responsibility to advocate against these
changes.
If your spiritual leaders and guides are advocating adoption of these
bylaws, they are not following Srila Prabhupada instructions. Therefore,
there is no reason that you comply with their wishes. What goes around
comes around. No authority = no authority. Srila Prabhupada is the
authority for all Iskcon devotees no matter who lit the fire. He has never
let us down so why risk leaving the shelter of his instructions. It is too
great a gamble. We all need to remember that the road to hell is paved with
good intentions.
